Music Box Migrations – Kathy Hinde and Matthew Olden

A trio of mechanised, winding music boxes play music generated from images of birds, bird migration patterns and maps.

The bell-like sounds of the music boxes are sampled live, fragmented and spatialised by Matthew Olden’s bespoke software ‘I am the mighty jungulator’ to create delicate echoes, repeats and variations.
