Join photographer Mark Page for a day in the imaginary seaside town of Sodley-on-Sea – the home of Page’s satirical view of British society, documentary photography and gallery culture.
During the one-day workshops Page will introduce the history of British Seaside Photography and lead a walking tour around the city to inspire a sideways view of the stereotypical and the authentic.
Finally, using Google image search to create new, slightly skewed visions of these places, the group will source images and ephemera to make a diorama that draws together the fantasy and the reality of British places at the periphery before photographing the new location and destroying the images ‘used up’.
